Hi,

When I tryed to do "ant fresh_install" I got error message:
[java] 2003-03-27 11:32:01,291 FATAL
org.dspace.administer.RegistryLoader @ anonymous::error_loading_registries:
[java] java.sql.SQLException: ERROR: No such attribute or function
'oid'
Here are some details:
I'm runnig Linux, RedHat 8.0
postgresql 7.2.3-5.80, and jdbc driver is the same version also.
There are other applications (pgaccess, dbvisualizer) working
just fine with this version of portgresql and jdbc driver.

I can't tell if the postgres db was compiled with
--enable-multibyte and
--enable-unicode
options.
I just installed the RPMs that come with RedHat 8.0 distribution package.

I think that this error maybe has something to do with jdbc driver....

Has anyone seen this error before?
Can anyone help me to complete installation?

Thank you for the help in advance!!!

Hi,
I had the same problem because I extracted dspace.tar file first on a
Windows machine
and then I tryed to execute scripts on Linux machine.

Extract all files on linux machine. Try to execute scripts and if you
still have the same error
check it you have "sh" interpreter installed.

If you have "sh" installed open the scipt that generates the error.
Edit the script on Linux machine in order to remove all invisible
characters you may have in the script.
-delete all blank lines
-position at the end of each line (if the line is commented out you can
skip it) and press delete button until
the next line joins the line you edit.
-then press enter to split the two lines again.
Thus you can delete invisible caracters at the end of each executable line.

Hope this helps .

Hi

I am configuring my new 1.5 install and made some changes to dspace.cfg
then I went to run /dspace/bin/install-configs but it does not exist
anymore. What do I do? Is this normal?

I copied across the install-configs from version 1.4.1 and ran it but it
did not work.

Thanks

Hamish

Hello Hamish,

It is an ant target run by calling "ant init_configs" in the [dspace-
source]/dspace/target/dspace-1.5.0-build/ where the build.xml ant
script has been placed, you do not want to run it in [dspace]/
because it copies the configuration from the relative location.

Install-configs no longer exists because that functionality is gone
and replaced by maintaining your configuration in the [dspace-source]/
dspace/configs directory instead, which is then appropriately
processed by the init_configs in the ant build.

Cheers,
Mark

Thanks for the reply Mark

So after I run ant init_configs do I have to copy any files anywhere?
