[Dspace-tech] qustion: about create community

dear sir

I am installed dspace-1.3.2.
But when i try to create first community ,this results in an "Internal System
Error"!

I can't find any logs in /dspace/logs

Can someone help me solve this problem.

Are you sure there's nothing in the dspace.log file? Unfortunately "Internal System Error" doesn't provide much information. If there isn't anything in dspace.log maybe change log4j.properties to log at DEBUG level and see if you can get some more information.

Is the dspace "user" defined as the Database owner?

You should be able to see some info in catalina.out, the Tomcat log file.

I found have some messaage in /var/log/tomcat/base/localhost_log.2006-04-
11.txt,

It can see below

2006-04-11 17:06:38 StandardWrapperValve[edit-communities]: Servlet.service()
for servlet edit-communities threw exception
java.io.IOException: Lock obtain timed out:
Lock@/usr/share/tomcat/temp/lucene-df0aa24d655351869e985b7372bc1408-write.lock
at org.apache.lucene.store.Lock.obtain(Lock.java:58)
at org.apache.lucene.index.IndexWriter.<init>(IndexWriter.java:223)
.......

There might be something is locked by the system, is someone can help me
solve the error message.
