We have a couple hundred available for consumables. There are definitely a few things around the space needing to be purchased. I have the following on my list, email me if there's anything else the space should buy for general purpose use in the next couple weeks. Or if you have something to donate so we don't need to buy it. No tools, just consumables.
  • Wood glue 16 oz bottles
    • Titebond 1-2
    • Titebond 3
  • electrical tape - multiple colors
  • soldering tips
    • chisel tip - size???
    • ???
  • liquid flux
  • leaded solder
  • soldering wand replacement for temp controlled stand
  • sewing kit items
    • quilting needles
    • machine needles
    • thread
    • seam ripper
    • bobbins
    • machine oil

An assortment of oils (penetrating,  white lithium grease) would be nice to have. We may also need to check the status of the super glue on the tool rack. It may need to be replaced / tossed.

I can find a link for the soldering wand and tips.

I will hold off on the saw blades for now. They are a bit spendy for current funds.

Do we need tips for the temperature controlled irons or the other irons?

We need to double check. I think some of the cheap irons need new tips - some were either bent or burnt down to flat. Not sure how they get bent like that, someone is really leaning on them or using them for pry bars maybe?

The temp controlled irons have the long pointy tips, which are not good for beginning students, having some of the shorter conical tips would be best for that (doing mostly through-hole and soldering wires). If we're going to do SMD classes they'll need the long pointy tips.

Squares ... so quarter sheet?

I'd like to draw the line at screws. There has to be a line somewhere, and wood screws are part of your project materials. There are too many sizes / styles / etc for us to stock them all.

Tim, I'm torn about screws being considered consumables.  I would generally consider them to be part of the project materials, but if I am hacking somehting together it is really handy to have them on hand.  Similar case to most of the components in the RadioShack drawers.  I consider resistors and LEDs to be part of the project but I find it really handy to have them on hand when I need one.  My rule of thumb would be that the space should have a single common size in stock but if your project is going to use more, then buy them.  I would also encourage anyone doing projects that have a reasonable amount of fasteners leftover to put them into some storage so that others can use that size.  There obviously has to be organization and pruning so that we don't have single screws of a given size but it shouldn't be too hard to go through and purge the screw organizer at the same frequency as we go through the hack rack.

Yeah, I have a habit of overbuying screws and leaving the extras. It is handy to have random fasteners on hand, but I don't want the space to guarantee they are available. Same way I like the electronics drawers, but I don't want the space to guarantee we have, say, 330 ohm resistors in stock.

Kleenex (please!)
Re-fill the first aid kit*
solo cups
orange cleaner
glass cleaner
small trash bags
hand soap refill
new sponges for soldering stations

* I don't know what all has been used, just that things have been and it hasn't been refilled for at least 6 months. Whatever can be acquired for burn victims would be good, as it seems we average a person burning themselves every other soldering workshop.
