Apps folder or full access?

I'm working on an app that will access your Dropbox. I'm working on this with someone else (his idea, he can't code it) and I noticed he had a specific folder for the files we'll use for the app. That folder is, of course, not under the Apps folder.

I'm very tempted to use the Apps folder because it seems the right and proper thing to do. Dropbox has specific SDK support for this type of app.

All that said, would you, as a user rather see all your Apps use the Apps folder, or is full access ok, so you can pick the folder you'd like to use?

this is, what i was wondering too. but the more apps the more i think it ist better in long term to keep app relevant things in this specific folder

We are building an app where Dropbox is just one of the possible storage solutions, so for consistency we're making a folder with our app name in the root folder.

As a programmer  I wanted to ask the user for the least permission possible, but in testing some people didn't find the App folder.
