(auto)determination of magnetometer board orientation

Hi all,

is it possible to determine the board orientation of the magnetometer (e.g. external ones) by using something similar like the IMU calibration routine?

I mean, theoretically with this routine the vehicle gets the information: front, back, .. and the magnetometers may yield inverted tilt information which can be used for calculation of the orientation.

Can this work or is it not feasible?
