Following on from my previous posts on "Installing DROID on OS Sierra 10.12.6" I have a further questions regarding installing container signature files. I am running DROID from the terminal using the previously suggested jar command with the necessary files still located in my Downloads directory. I don't know where to put a new container signature file. As the DROID application is designed with a nice wee box in Preferences to update signature files I don't have a problem with them, but grateful if someone could tell me where to put my container signature update. Even more grateful if DROID could have a similar nice wee box in Preferences for this!

Thanks
Jenny

Hi Jenny,

If the computer is connected to the Internet the 'check for signature updates' should update both container and binary signatures.

To update manually DROID creates a .droid6 file in your home directory, e.g for Mac I think for me this would be users/pyoung/.droid6. For Mac this would be set to default as a hidden folder, this site gives guidance on making these viewable https://ianlunn.co.uk/articles/quickly-showhide-hidden-files-mac-os-x-mavericks/. In the .droid6 here is another folder called container_sigs and signature_files. You can copy signature files in here and then in preferences they should appear and you can select them.

Thanks Paul. I wasn't sure where the .droid6 directory might be on Linux and of course it was hidden, so all good now!
