Hi Experts,

The solution we are integrating with DROID with has a huge number of emails copied from Lotus Notes and stored in our system as a .DXL file.

So we then export these .dxl files onto a file system droid is monitoring. We execute droid via the command line using the current signature file, droid however identifies these DXL files as fmt/101 with the Mime Type listed as application/xml, text/xml instead of  Lotus Notes as the application that should be used to open this mime type. (http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/pronom/fmt/101)

Note: I had set the scanning limit to a -ve value.

It is quite important for us to have a alternate update solution in place in case of any such incorrect PUID`s returned, wanted to get a confirmation for DXLs as this is quite critical for our business needs.

Hi Prasad,

Are you able to provide any sample files? If so, please send a couple to pro...@nationalarchives.gsi.gov.uk. We have no interest in the content so if you can generate simple test files thn this will help.

We do have DXL in PRONOM (fmt571 - http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/pronom/fmt/571) but it seems that your files aren't conforming, and it would be useful for us to understand why. Additionally, what version of Lotus Notes is in use, and what version of the DROID signature file are you using?

Hi Prasad,

I have received your sample file and replied offline. Many thanks for providing. For the benefit of the community I should report that, from your samples we have developed an alternate signature for DXL (fmt/571 - Domino XML Document Export) which will be included in our next signature release, currently scheduled for late-June.
