Use default mapping in custom converter

Hi.
I'm using a custom converter (new API) to do one special field mapping for a class.
I want to let dozer perform a default mapping for the class and on top of it, I want to do the special field mapping by my own.
Sadly, I get a Stackoverflow Exception since it is recursing like described here:

Since the post is a while back, is this possible now?
