martial arts classes for our folks

Dear friends,

South Puget Sound Up with Down Syndrome is offering martial arts classes for 8 weeks for all our people with Down syndrome. The dates will be April 13-June 1, on Wednesday from 4-5 pm at World Martial Arts , 640 Oleary St NW in Olympia. We will offer 2 classes: one called Little Dragons for kids with Down syndrome between 4-8 or 9 years. That will meet from 4-4:30 on those dates. The classes for anyone over 8-9, including adults, will be from 4-5 pm on those same dates. Uniforms will be provided for everyone taking a class. There will be a fitting session for the uniforms on March 30 , also from 4-5 pm. There is a waiting area for parents in the lobby. The organization is called World Martial Arts and the owners are Gregg and Michelle Loney. They teach primarily jin song do, similar to karate or kung fu. It helps to instill confidence and skills to defend yourself.

If you are interested, please let me know at becca...@msn.com or call me at 915-6276 within the next week or so. Our group will pay for the uniforms and the sessions. If this is successful, we plan to offer it on a continuing basis like the dance classes.
