SMTPServerDisconnected

I'm slowly setting up my django Oscar, setup the email server and tested it on shell, django send_email method worked fine, but the reset_password view is giving me the following exception

smtplib in send

SMTPServerDisconnected: please run connect() first

What should I do? should I try changing the Email Backend? for what?
