Hi Everyone!

I'd like to share out an opportunity to apply for an NSF-funded project we're working on to create installations and events for adult STEM outreach. We're also documenting the full process to write a guide for other cultural institutions who'd like to put them on as well. The is a great chance for scientists to partner with artists on making more engaging science interactives and programs. The info is below, and feel free to share or reach out if you have questions!

Applications open for the Guerilla Science Artist & Scientist residency!

Music, cabaret, theater, and art are pervasive at music festivals - so why not science? The Pratt Institute, New York and Guerilla Science collective are hosting a residency for artist-scientist collaborations to bring transformational experiences to major art and music festivals. We are seeking applicants to develop new forms of site-specific interactive installations and live events that mix science with art, music, and play.

The residency will take place over six weeks beginning in June, culminating at Oregon Eclipse festival. We are grouping scientists and artists to create a host of new events and installations to spark imagination and curiosity. A stipend of $4500, 2 tickets to the festival, travel subsidy, as well as studio and fabrication space at the Pratt Institute will be provided, along with access to the project’s network of mentors and partners.

Applications open until 28 April 2017. Find out more on our blog: http://guerillascience.org/art-sci-festival-residency/
