Are there any estimates on when h264 decoding support will start appearing in mobile (android) versions of Chrome? Currently the furthest roll out is on the desktop beta channel behind a flag, but there seems to be absolutely no support on any version of mobile chrome.

Can we expect it on mobile chrome when it goes live on the desktop? Or that there some additional difficulties on getting decoding working in android?

hey mike,

note that  the android version of stand-alone webrtc supports H264, including webrtc HW acceleration. Is there any reason why you're waiting for chrome there?

Alex.

I was hoping to postpone creating my own Android app for some time since I still have quite a few other things on my list to get done. I was hoping to be able to have my project running on a tablet at least for demo purposes. Just having the video play on the mobile chrome would have been sufficient. I have to wait until h264 is fully supported in desktop Chrome anyway, so I was hoping h264 on Android Chrome would be supported in parallel.

Is there any update on this? I had heard that Android Chrome now supports h.264, but only on some devices.
