Chrome M71 is rolling out to Chrome Stable users this week. With this version of Chrome, WebRTC is continuing to test the new acoustic echo canceller (AEC3) for a randomized subset of users, across all desktop operating systems. We are anticipating a general launch within the foreseeable future.
Users can expect much reduced echo leakage compared to AEC2, as heard by the other endpoint. Furthermore, the transparency is improved from earlier versions of AEC3. (Lack of transparency is perceived as “choppy audio” or half-duplex behavior, again by the other side.)
In particular, crbug.com/905083 was fixed in M71.
