Hello Digital Curation Community,

The DLF UX Working Group, part of the Digital Library Federation Assessment Interest Group (DLF AIG), is developing guidelines and best practices in user and usability studies related to digital libraries. As part of this effort, we are determining best practices for developing user personas, beginning with gathering examples of personas designed for digital libraries. Once gathered our group plans to share the collection with the broader digital libraries community and then analyze the resources to understand how cultural heritage institutions represent diverse groups of digital library user needs. Our second output will be a best practices guide for digital library personas development.

The UX Working Group could use your help in providing examples of personas that you’ve used at your institution in the past. These will help us inform our best practice guidelines and help other institutions create and use personas effectively to improve the user experience. If you have example personas, please contact Victoria Pilato at victori...@stonybrook.edu. Responses are appreciated by April 30.

Thank you!

On behalf of the DLF UX Working Group

Best,

Victoria
