Hello all,

I'm happy to announce the release of Brunnhilde 1.3.0. This latest version bring a few new features:
  • Python 2 and 3 compatibility (tested in Python 2.7 and 3.5)
  • Selection of hash algorithm (md5, sha1, sha256, sha512)
  • New, more readable display of duplicates in HTML report
  • Smaller HTML reports by default (inclusion of Siegfried warnings is now optional)
There is also a corresponding release of the Brunnhilde GUI, which adds the new options from the CLI version.

For those not familiar, Brunnhilde is a digital archives reporting tool written in Python and designed for use in Linux (including Bitcurator) and macOS. Brunnhilde runs the Siegfried file format identification tool, ClamAV virus scanning software, and optionally Bulk Extractor against a source directory or disk image, loads the output into a SQLite database, and generates reports (including a human readable HTML report and more machine-processable CSVs) to aid in accessioning, triage, and processing of digital archives. More information -- including installation instructions -- can be found here.

Best,

Tim
