Since 99translations finally dies and shuts down its service soon I'd to
look for alternatives. I always liked Web translate it
(https://webtranslateit.com) for it's fairly clean interface, feature
completeness and awesome CLI client. The maintainer is very kind and
provided an unlimited account instantly. Thanks to him!

I'm doing a last pull from 99translations right now and will sync it
back to our brand new project at Web translate it
(https://webtranslateit.com/en/projects/3020-Diaspora). If you want to
further contribute please join this project now, I've updated the wiki
on how to do so:
https://github.com/diaspora/diaspora/wiki/How-to-contribute-translations

Thank you for your constant great work translators!

Excerpts from Jonne Haß's message of 2012-02-16 22:20:50 +0000:

Does webtranslateit run on open sourc software?

I've already proposed help with migrating to: https://www.transifex.net which code base you can find at:
http://code.indifex.com/transifex

Also main developer and transifex.net maintainer offered help with making adjustments if we miss some features for hosting diaspora...

In general wherever I find open source alternative, i don't ask people to learn using proprietary service for contributing!

Transifex also makes it possible to work locally using the Gettext
utilities. A big advantage IMNSHO.

Hello,

I just started to contribute a bit to the translation of diaspora.

I like the interface of wentranslateit and was thinking to use it for my own international project. However, the prices for private use are quite high, as I see it.

Is there some similar open source translation software available? That would be nice....

Cheers & thanks

PS: I hope this was not the wrong place to formulate my question ;-)
