Hi everyone,

We had a brilliant meeting between the Derby Makers and Silk Mill team on Wednesday night.  To begin, we spent time discussing how we might build upon the partnership between Derby Makers and the Silk Mill to ensure it is really positive, mutual and productive into the future.  I thought I'd share with you some work we did as a group that focussed upon the aims/values both of our groups share (really, the foundations upon which we build our partnership) and the ways we, as a group, commit to work together in terms of how we interact and support one another.

I attach pictures of what we collectively came up with.  At the top of the page are what we felt our shared aims might be.  Below the line are the ways we would like to work together as a group to achieve them.  As Paul says, I'll be on the ground floor next Wednesday.  I'll have this work with me so please do come, have a closer look and share your thoughts.  This is a work in progress and we'd love to hear your thoughts on what we've come up with.

As well as the above, I'll be there on Wednesday night to have a natter and a general catch up and I'd love to hear more about what you're making.  Feel free to ask me questions about the Silk Mill project and all we've been up to here, plus, I'd love to hear any thoughts you might have for events and volunteering opportunities you'd like to get involved with.

Hope to see you next Wednesday!

Very best,

Gemma

Thanks for sharing these Gemma and the Silk Mill team for there time and engagement in the process.  I thought the post-it-ing was a great way for us to think about what we want to achieve and the best approach in achieving it. We then used this foundation to discuss and create some meaningful and tangible actions.

Stuart, Paul & I, did our best to represent the views of DM members, but it is really important that we get direct feedback on what we came up with, to ensure everyone’s views were actually represented. Please do take Gemma up on here offer to discuss the outcomes of our meeting, to progress this work in progress.

Cheers, Morgan
