Hi all,

I'm going out to Borneo this summer with Engineers without Borders to help develop electronic load controllers for micro hydro power generation. I'm a mechanical engineer with only a small amount of experience of electrical engineering so I'm keen to get some experience and have a play with electronics and micro controllers before I go. Do you think Derby Makers might be able to help me with this and/or help me think of a mini project to work on before I go out?

Thanks,

Jenny

This sounds great!

Very much so. I propose that you come along, talk to people like me and Al Johnson, and perhaps help us put together a workshop/event about this. I bet that there are others who could benefit. That way we can help you out as much as we can and assist others too.

Cheers!

Hi David,

That sounds great. Will you be meeting this evening? If not, perhaps we could chat next week?

Thanks!

Great. I'll try to come too and we can have a chat. What time and where should I come along?

I plan to be at the Silk Mill at around 18:00.

See you then! (And others who are around too, of course.)

Hi all!

Just letting you know there is a new post on our website (http://derbymakers.co.uk/) about the needle felting I was doing on Wednesday evening.

Hey David,

Thanks for the chat on Thursday. Here's the link to my project -http://www.ewb-uk.org/our-initiatives/supporting-collaborative-development-partnerships-globally/international-placements/international-placements-and-fellowships2016/2091-2. I'll post more information when I get some! I look forward to hearing your ideas for some kit to buy and mini projects.

Thanks again,

Jenny
