Hi all! I gave a plug for this unusual, pop-up makerspace last night, but wanted to share along some links and a few ways you can get involved.

Recap: This Saturday is the second-annual DC Funk Parade: a street festival, foot parade, and music fest taking over U Street from 12PM until forever. You should attend.

Specifically, you should come to ROBOTDISCO, a DIY future space run by Code for DC and the Open Technology Institute. It's the kickoff of a series of play spaces for community tech that we'll create with the neighborhood festivals this year. Also, it's pure fun. We're going to be building, among other things, LED art, the future, and **ROBOT COSTUMES**. At 5PM, we'll transform into a robot army and dance/march in the parade.

Will you join us? We'll be in the lot in front of The Howard Theatre (the start of the parade!!) this Saturday, May 2nd between 2 & 5PM. (The parade starts at 5!) Right off of U St on Florida Ave, between 6th & 7th.

Will you help us?  We need you! We need  volunteers to help with simple stuff like moving tables and maybe dancing as a robot and definitely managing craft stations.
