Thought this might be something the membership would be interested in.
I'm Amelia, and I am an engineer and maker (part of LVL1 Hackerspace) in Louisville, KY. I recently joined FirstBuild and am helping to build and connect the community of makers in the Midwest. We are looking for opportunities to invite makerspace communities to come visit our space that will open in July as well as form connections now so that we can meet during Maker Faire visits. Would love to hear your thoughts on how to best connect.
If you are curious about FirstBuild as whole, I'd be happy to answer any questions. The website and microfactory (opening in July in Louisville, KY) together will be how we will create prototypes with the community and award prizes for challenges and royalties for products that go into mass production, predominantly in the home appliances space. Our website just launched two weeks ago with two design-focused challenges, one for micro-kitchens and another for indoor grilling.
