In a previous thread from July 7th ("Office A/C") a person, Jesse Collier, inquired about the old "fan" units and wondering if he could have them after they were removed.

Well, they have been removed.  Two motors, as a matter of fact.  They are sitting in a box by the Diode entrance across from the glass display case with a sign on the box reading "HOLD FOR JESSE."

We will hold them for you until next Friday, 4 September.

I will be at the Diode at various times through the coming week.  Get with me here on this forum to arrange a pick-up time.

Whoa I forgot about those, thanks!  Any chance you'll be around in the afternoon any day this coming weekend or week?

I'll be there today from 10:00 am to noon.  Most of the day on Saturday.  Not at all on Sunday (my day of rest).  Next week in the mornings before work on various days.

Great, tomorrow works well for me.  I work nights for now so I'll be up till about 8 am tomorrow and every day this coming week except Tuesday and usually wake up between 1 and 3.  Will early afternoon work for you?  If not, I'm free most of the day Tuesday except I'm saving some time for an appointment I don't have set in stone yet...

Jesse, it had slipped my mind that today (Saturday) is the DMA picnic.  I won't be at the Diode until after 6 pm.  And I'll leave around 9.  Can you stop by around those hours?

Ahhh, I gotta be at work by 6:30.  What's your afternoons look like this week?

Well, I work 2nd shift.  However, Joe has the space open on Wednesdays and Rick has the space open on Thursdays, both days from 5:30 pm on.  If that doesn't work for you, I'll be here in the mornings during the week, but my precise schedule varies.  What is the earliest time you can make it over here?

I could make it out Wednesday or Thursday.  I've got to turn in my membership application to Joe anyhow.  However, I'll be free Tuesday morning, too, and could pick up then if you're around.

Jesse, are you still interested in the motors? I will be at the Diode most of today (Saturday).

Hey, I stopped in Wednesday and turned in my membership stuff to Joe and checked out the motors sitting there.  I was thinking they were within complete squirrel cage fan units and was honestly just interested in the blower wheel and figured I'd just separate the motors and recycle or whatnot.  I asked Joe if he'd like me to take them out to A&B (and return the proceeds to the diode coffer, natch) and he said just to leave them for a minute and see if anyone else could use them for anything.  Thanks for looking out for me though.  If you know of anyone else who could use them or just want to send them over to the scrap yard, have at it.

Cheers,

Jesse

Jesse, welcome to the club!

I'll keep them around for another week.  If no one else claims them, then they get recycled.
