Dear all,

The Centre for Data in the Public Purpose (CDPP) is an initiative by Azim Premji University, Bangalore that seeks to establish a vibrant data ecosystem for addressing social issues of relevance to India.

We wish to:

- Promote rigorous, systematic and responsible data collection, management, publication and analyses practices
- Establish a vibrant, multi-disciplinary community of academics and practitioners for sustained discourse on data-centric projects, platforms and technologies
- Conduct training workshops and programmes for students and professionals so that they can contribute to the data ecosystem

CDPP will conduct a five-day workshop on 'Thinking and Working with Data' on June 11-16, 2018 at the Azim Premji University Undergraduate Residences, Bangalore.

The workshop is primarily targeted to senior undergraduate and postgraduate students who are interested in getting exposure to data analysis and 'data thinking.' Familiarity with programming will be assumed. You will get more out of the workshop if you know the R programming language and have prior exposure to statistical analysis and data visualization.

The workshop is free of cost and shared accommodation will be provided to participants.
