Just FYI - Crime data analytics consultation

A friend on Facebook had posted this after going for said consultation : 

"It's reassuring to witness the implementation of crime data analytics (Crime mapping and hot spot policing) in India. 

From thermal imaging to Geo tagging - this is truly interdisciplinary. IITs and State Police Organizations are collaborating and have already launched platforms to map crimes and police areas accordingly. 

At National Crime Records Bureau, New Delhi. Long way to go, but a great start indeed.

It is interactive but not open to public yet. I am sure it's not too hard for a research organization to gain access to this data though."

This kind of data is very valuable when published as open data. Need not be near real time but historical data would be good.

Will definitely drive community policing and making neighborhoods safer.

Another dataset that might be interesting to overlay would be traffic data along with demographics  k-annoynimized
