Is there any credible statistical analysis and extrapolation of Demography of Indian population

HI, 

I am sick of the messages I keep getting even from good people I know about the Muslim population being a majority in future. 

This forms a basis for so many other things that are inferred including that every Hindu should produce 4 children and what not. 

I would like to see a real analysis to understand and/o /counter the arguments.
