National Highway Network in India

NCOG has created new updated maps for our National Highways. 

It includes Bharatmala Corridors, NHAI projects, NHDCL projects, In principle approved NHs.

Dear All,

Have seen the link. It is good visual representation.
However can we use any of the layers as WMS or in any other form?
I couldn't find anything offhand.

If you want to see more layers like in-principle approved NHs. 
- Click on any toll plaza, Then "Click for More Details"
- Then take below link in another tab.

This data seems to be accessible as a WMS service at the following URL: https://ncog.gov.in/NHAI/admin/wms/?SERVICE=WMS&VERSION=1.3.0&REQUEST=GetCapabilities

Hi,

I am analyzing PCU/day for different toll plaza in India. For that i need number of lane available on toll plazas. The above link is not working. Also I tried this- https://nhai.ncog.gov.in/login but it is asking for login. Any suggestions on how to access lane specific data. 

Some toll plaza specific data is available at- http://tis.nhai.gov.in/tollplazasataglance?language=en#

One way is to download the India OpenStreetMap shapefiles, and crop the highway layer to a boundary of TN https://download.geofabrik.de/asia/india.html
National highways will have the attribute type as 'trunk' or 'motorway'.

Hi Krishna,

Thanks to Openstreetmap Volunteers and overpass turbo. You can download the highway vector files in geojson from here (https://overpass-turbo.eu/s/ZiR) and then convert it to shp using qgis or any other tool.

There is another way to get data from in different formats  with the help of this tool 


it is easy and all popular formats are available 

for Tamilnadu you can create a bounding box or search in.
