Election commission has started a drive to link to connect UID to Voter ID called National Electoral Roll Purification and Authentication Programme (NERPAP), 2015 [1] . It talks about how this is an effort to make a clean and authenticated voters list.
some things to think about
- But no where it talks about how this data will be used
- Who will have access to this data (only EC,or GoI, UIDAI, Political Parties etc)
- What kind of privacy protection policies in place as UID can lead to many other datasets
- What kind of studies have been done before implementing this
* What do you guys think? I think this is a bad bad idea
* Is RTI the best way to get this kind of information from EC?
