data vis for new magazine

For a new magazine called Argonite, I’d like a beautiful visualization of the history of migration, by country, to the land that’s now the United States, starting with the first migrations over the land bridge from current Russia to Alaska, and including the theorized arrival of Europeans by boat long before Columbus, the Spanish immigrants to the west, Jamestown, details on immigration from the slave trade (interesting info here: http://www.slavevoyages.org/assessment/estimates I would like to include Hawaii and Alaska. For this data I’d also like to indicate what ports they used for entry.  I would prefer that the person accepting this assignment also researched data, though that is not absolutely necessary.
