The UNESCO Institute for Statistics (www.uis.unesco.org) is the UN depository for global statistics in the fields of education, science and technology, culture, and communications. In particular, our education database is the most comprehensive in the world, with indicators for about 200 countries reflecting a wide range of issues – from the number girls’ enrolled in primary school to origins and destinations of university students abroad.

We are developing a roster of graphic specialists/designers with demonstrated experience in producing high-quality and innovative infographics in several languages (English, French, Spanish and at times Arabic). We will use this roster for periodic freelance projects, usually associated with major international conferences or initiatives designed to promote the right to education, sustainable development and gender equality.

The selected contractors will work remotely with tight deadlines set by the Institute, which is based in Montreal, Canada.
The graphic designers/specialists should have:
• innovative vision and strong visual arts skills with an established portfolio of infographics;
• expert knowledge of graphic and visualization tools such as Adobe CS5 Suite including Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign;
• experience in conveying key messages linked to international development issues (e.g. the right to education, gender equality, sustainable development) is considered an asset.

Candidates should send their cvs, portfolios and hourly rates by email to Amy Otchet at a.ot...@unesco.org under the subject heading ‘Infographic designer’.
