FFunction (https://ffctn.com/) is an award-winning data visualization studio based in Montreal. We’re looking for a talented developer to join our team. In this full-time onsite role, you’ll be working on interactive data visualizations and data-driven applications for high profile international clients. 


ABOUT US 

Since 2008, we have been at the international vanguard of data visualization, and we believe in harnessing the power of data to communicate with credibility and make the world a more transparent and data-driven place. 

We have helped clients including UNESCO Institute for Statistics, Google, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, HP, National Geographic and the Canadian Cancer Society visualize their most valuable property – their information – and use it effectively to drive change on a worldwide scale. 


TASKS 

  • Work with the design team to transform wireframes and mockups into HTML, CSS and JavaScript interactives 
  • Help normalize, process and explore new datasets 
  • Work on our new project planning tool, Min 


SKILLS & QUALITIES

  • Passionate about programming / software engineering 
  • Has a sensitivity to graphic and interactive design 
  • Inside-out knowledge of HTML/CSS/JavaScript 
  • Solid knowledge of a general programming language (Python, Java, C, etc) 
  • Comfortable with a UNIX environment Not afraid of learning new things 
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects involving different clients & team members 
  • Able to deliver elegant and maintainable code 
  • Work closely with a cross-functional team of developers, designers and project managers to produce high quality work 
  • Must work well under pressure, be adaptable, and meet deadlines 
  • Bilingualism an advantage 
  • Not highly allergic to dogs
