Datassist is an independent consulting firm that specializes in providing research and evaluation support to non-profit organizations across the globe. You can find out more about our projects on our site www.idatassist.com. We are hiring a data analyst to join our team and assist with projects requiring statistical analysis and interpretation of analytical results.

We’re looking for someone to join the team on one main project involving weighting complex survey data. The right candidate will also assist in data analysis on several floating projects involving exploratory and causal data analysis. The floating projects will mainly involve several varieties of regression and cluster analysis.

Must be curious, logical, organized, a good communicator, unafraid of sharing half-baked ideas, and dedicated to good data science practices. This job is remote so you must be comfortable working independently and communicating online.

We need you to be highly competent in R. The other requirement is the ability to work with survey weighting methods. Experience in Excel, Python, Javascript, GitHub would be nice but are not essential. In addition, the ability to communicate the results of your analyses to a broad audience will be considered an important asset.

Most importantly, you’re undeterred by the things you don’t know and proceed intrepidly. You must be willing to try new things.

Please email your resume and a cover letter to us at hea...@idatassist.com with “Data Analyst” in the subject line and include the following:
1. Describe your top three data analysis skills.
2. Tell us about your experience with survey sample weighting.
3. Tell us about a project where you had to try something new with data analysis.
4. Include a sample of your work.

This is a part-time remote job. You can work from anywhere in the world. There will be approximately 15 hours per week for six months, with the possibility of permanent work. There is a 4 week probationary period to make sure it’s a good fit for the team. The rate is $35-$50 per hour depending on experience and ability.
