Graphicacy is looking for design interns to help create data-rich information graphics for online interactive applications, visualization tools, installations, and large format posters. We have an ongoing internship program and are looking year-round for qualified and interested candidates, with the potential to become full time members of our growing team.

Here at Graphicacy we describe what we do as “creative analytic design.” Our services include data visualization, interactive applications, information graphics, data analysis, graphic design, motion graphics, illustration, and seminars, for clients such as the Center for American Progress, Dreamworks, and Scientific American Magazine. This internship is ideal for someone looking to gain experience in visually communicating complex ideas in dynamic and accessible ways.

Required:

– Experience with design and the Adobe Creative Suite
– Interest in building beautiful and useful interactive data visualizations
– Ability to keep to deadlines

Bonus points:

– Knowledge of front-end development with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, D3/jQuery/backbone/angular or other visualization tools
– Knowledge of statistical analysis (SQL, R or other statistical packages)
– Knowledge of UX/UI development

Our team is a diverse group with a mix of ages and backgrounds that include political science, computer science, economics, advertising and PR, graphic design, journalism, programming, software development and entrepreneurship. We work in a stimulating environment at the WeWork Wonder Bread Factory in the Shaw neighborhood.

To apply, please send a cover letter and resume to jobs [at] graphicacy [dot] com.  Please include a link to your portfolio or any relevant work samples. We are currently reviewing applications for winter and spring internships on a rolling basis.
