Aerodynamics visualization - WebGL developer - Full-time @ funded startup

At AirShaper (www.airshaper.com), we are developing an online aerodynamics platform. It allows people with no knowledge on simulations to optimize the aerodynamics of their 3D design (bicycles, buildings, cars, ...). We're a government/privatly funded startup located in the center of Antwerp, Belgium, in a startup incubator (KBC startit).

To further develop our platform, we're looking for a developer to join our team on a full-time basis as an employee. The main focus is WebGL, and wherever possible, you'll be taking on front-end / back-end tasks, depending on your experience/passion:

Core 3D tasks:
- 3D visualisation
Write post-processing scripts to go from raw data to exported 3D models of flow lines, pressure/velocity plots, turbulence "clouds", ...
Visualise results online by applying WebGL technology (possibly through e.g. Three.JS, blend4web, ...)
Provide options for interactivity (3D annotations)
Optimize for rendering speed / rendering quality / smooth switching between different representations
Map physical data onto existing models (surface pressure maps for example).
- 3D model manipulation
Manipulated exported 3D models using techniques like decimation.
- 3D model check
Interactive module to upload a 3D model, set scale/rotate/move and get live feedback on errors that could disturb the calculation (open edges, wrong normals, ...).
- Plugin development
Integrate AirShaper, through the API's, in 3D CAD packages like Solidworks, OnShape, Creo, ...

Non-3D tasks, depending on your skills/passion:
- Server architecture (preferably in python)
Set up dynamic calculation servers (spin up VM's/docker instances, vary
CPU/RAM requirements, ...).
Set up databases, API's, encryption, authentication, ...
- Interact with UX/UI development contracters to create a visually stunning
online experience
- Think like an entrepreneur: what does the user want, how can we tune our
business model, which markets can we address, ...
- Go wild: do you have crazy ideas? Can you back them up with sound arguments?
Bring it on!

Our office is located in a startup incubator, so you'll be surrounded by
techies & entrepreneurs. Hours are flexible, and fun will balance the cool &
hard work.

We're looking to hire somebody on a full-time basis for this position. Applicants need to have a European passport. Salary will be market conform and in time, warrants can be discussed as an extra. You'll have a direct impact on the success of the company, and your role can be tuned accordingly.
