Conduct advanced research and engineering in data visualization and visual analytics
Apply research results to real-world cases with high quality implementation
Summarize research findings in high-quality paper and patent submissions
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Strong background in information visualization, visual analytics and related fields
Experience in developing responsive web-based applications, fluent in JavaScript
Experience with visualization toolkits and libraries like D3.js
Hands-on with data processing and
manipulation, fluent with one or more scripting or statistical
programming languages such as Python, R (or equivalents), fluent with
SQL queries
Strong research and problem solving skills
Good communication and teamwork skills
Desired Qualifications:
Publication record in top venues of visualization research (IEEE VIS / TVCG, CHI, EuroVis, etc.).
Knowledge in data mining and machine learning, including time
series analysis, high-dimensional data analysis, text mining and etc.
Knowledge in interaction and user experience design
Knowledge in graphical design
Full stack experience in building web applications
Experience with WebGL

About Visual Computing at RTC-NA
As part of Bosch Research’s global competence field Human Machine Interaction (HMI), our Visual Computing group is located at Palo Alto, CA and responsible for shaping the future user experience of Bosch products by developing cutting-edge technologies in the fields of computer graphics, computer vision, augmented and virtual reality, big data visual analytics, 3D mapping and visualization. We focus on solutions to hard challenges using visual and other modes of communication for natural user interaction. We work with internal partners at various Bosch business units to transfer our ideas and solutions into future products in application areas such as car infotainment and driver assistance systems (ADAS), automotive aftermarket services, security systems, highly automated driving (HAD), smart home and building solutions, Internet of Things (IoT), robotics, and Industry 4.0. We also actively collaborate with leading groups in academia and industry to promote research ideas and publish research findings in internationally renowned conferences and journals (e.g., ISMAR, CVPR, ICCV, IEEE VIS, I3D, SIGGRAPH, etc.)
