I've searched for open issues, but this doesn't seem to be a duplicate: i
apologise if it is.

The problem is that recently, the Alt-key has started toggling the firefox
menubar. Since i use xmonad (or dwm or whatever), a keyboard-based window
manager, i frequently press alt then change my mind, but this brings up the
menubar which steals focus. This is very annoying.

My temporary fix is to add this line to .pentadactylrc:

set! ui.key.menuAccessKeyFocuses=false

But this seems to randomly become un-set during a firefox session.

It seems that the parameter is reset to true if you make any changes
to 'guioptions'. It is indeed very annoying.

Apparently ui.key.menuAccessKey shoud be set to 0:

I have set in about:config long ago and never had this problem again.

Setting ui.key.menuAccessKey to 0 disables the access key completely.

This is separate from ui.key.menuAccessKeyFocuses which controls whether
pressing the access key shows the menu bar or not.
