d3 on react native touch events

I've been playing with react native and see a lot of value of being able to use d3 in react native. I've been using https://github.com/brentvatne/react-native-svg to get d3 working on react-native, but I haven't figured out events. Normally you are supposed to use dom events but things like mouseover won't work as they shouldn't. Is there a way to handle interactions on react native with d3?
