D3 mulitple zoom on single tag

Is it possible to use more than one zoom on an tag?

I want a chart to be zoomable on each axis. Therefor I need axis zoom independent from a global zoom on the chart and zoom on each axis. 

I thought about one single tag that can be zoomed in x and y direction. by hovering the x axis the y-zoom will be disabled etc. 

Now I need to know how to add more than one zoom on a tag.
