Dynamic updates to sankey diagrams

Greetings. I'm hoping to discover a snippet of code that I came across a long time ago and neglected to save. If anyone has a lead or knows how to do this, I'd appreciate the help:

It's a sankey diagram, but there are options to add or remove nodes. And when the nodes are added or removed, the rest of the content "adjusts" to make room or remove room. Basically, it's like a force graph but for a sankey. Note that I'm not talk about moving nodes around, like here, but rather an example that showed how to add and remove nodes.
