World Tour Orthographic with pan, zoom and tracks

I would like to take the World Tour or Orthographic D3 Map example as a starting point that Mike made and add the following features.

- Add zoom and pan

- Plot a track based on latitude and longitude positions.

- Have a balloon popup on each latitude/longitude position.

Are there any existing D3 map examples that already have these features?
