circRNA miRNA mRNA pathway/interaction

HI
I am trying to check pathways targeted by candidate miRNA (both individual and by groups of miRNAs) and mRNAs/proteins affected in the pathways targeted.
It's working fine with geneids but not with miRNA inputs. Any advice would be highly appreciated.
