We’re having a fun and lucrative competition based on Cytoscape-based work you may already have or would like to have a reason to do.
We are very proud of the large and growing collection of high quality and highly valuable apps (http://apps.cytoscape.org) contributed by the Cytoscape developer community.
We are celebrating by awarding cash prizes for the most creative and effective demonstrations of new Cytoscape animation and automation apps: cyAnimator and cyREST.
You have an excellent chance to win!
How the Competition Works
Submit your best work in any of the categories below – 1 submission per category per person:
Category | Description |
1 | Best example of using Cytoscape + cyAnimator for Biology |
2 | Best example of using Cytoscape + cyREST for Biology |
3 | Most valuable feature to add to Cytoscape |
4 | Most aesthetically pleasing network visualization produced using either cyAnimator or cyREST |
Submit a visualization and text (up to 3 clear and concise sentences) telling the compelling story of your submission. For cyAnimator, your visualization must be a .mp4 file. For cyREST-based submissions, your visualization must be a .png file, and you must submit the external scripts or programs that call cyREST.

Prizes
Winners will be chosen in each category solely based on judgment by the Cytoscape team. Prizes include Amazon gift cards:
1st place: $100
2nd place: $50
Consolation (chosen by lottery): $25
To receive a prize, all winners must agree to have their entry posted on a Cytoscape web site (cytoscape.org or nrnb.org).
