How to understand the results from Wecome to Cytoscape

Hi all,

The results in node table sometimes contain all numbers. For example, all nodes are expressed by number in the node table after choosing E. coli in tag "Welcome to Cytoscape", What do these numbers mean? How can I relate them to genes or proteins? Sorry for asking this beginner's question.

Hi,

These numbers refer to geneids from E-coli, you can use these to map them to gene or protein names.

This can be done by using for example the bridgeDB app: http://apps.cytoscape.org/apps/bridgedb
