Dear all, I want to construct a PPI network of human proteins which involving in disease pathway taken from KEGG.

The steps i have done was

1) i have loaded a disease-human pathway from kegg using keggscape
2) And then i have analyzed network topology for 100 nodes and 50 edges.
3) Since the network is small, i want to extend the network

what am trying to do is by using cytoscape i want to construct a new network by the proteins involving in the pathway. Can anyone help me to construct the network by merging other databases like biogrid, string etc

Hi Indhu,
Well, you could certainly use stringApp to load in a network, but you can't expand the existing network easily with string since that would require having the string IDs somewhere.  So, what you would need to do is to create a duplicate network and then merge your data in.  Take the 100 nodes from your KEGG network and paste them into the stringApp and then load the STRING network.  This will give you uniprot identifiers for all of the proteins.  Then you should be able to merge the the two networks using the respective uniprot columns as your merge key.
