App "Failed to Load"

Hello,

am trying to develop an app for Cytoscape. For the beginning i followed the tutorial on this website http://opentutorials.cgl.ucsf.edu/index.php/Tutorial:Create_a_Bundle_App_Using_IDE .

I tried to install the app with the App Manager inside of Cytoscape, but it is not working.

The status of my app is "Failed to Load". It also says "App description not found" in the App Information section of the App Manager.

Do I need to add an app description? And if so where and how can I do that?

Hi, it is rather unfortunate but this tutorial is outdated!

Sorry about that, we'll make sure to update it shortly, but the current and preferred way to go is through the cytoscape developer documentation: http://cytoscape.org/documentation_developers.html and more exactly the app developer ladder: http://wiki.cytoscape.org/Cytoscape_3/AppDeveloper/Cytoscape_App_Ladder

Hi, 

App Information is fetched from the app store. So unless your jar is uploaded on app store, you won't find app information.
