> This five full-day intensive course will cover network analysis methods widely used in systems biologic and systems genetic applications. The goal of the network analysis workshop is to familiarize researchers with network methods and software for integrating genomic data sets with complex phenotype data. Students will learn how to integrate disparate data sets (genetic variation, gene expression, epigenetic, protein interaction networks, complex phenotypes, gene ontology information) and use networks for identifying disease genes, pathways and key regulators. A companion Statistical Genetics Short Course will be held in August 2015.
>
> Topics will include:
>
> Network Analysis Methods
> RNA-Seq Data
> DNA Methylation and other epigenetic data
> Other High-Dimensional Genomics Data
> WGCNA
> Pathway Analysis and Network Visualization
> Network Based Meta-analyses of Multiple Data Sets
> Causal Inference
> Systems Genetics
> Machine Learning Methods
>
> Who:
> The course is intended for students, faculty, and data analysts from diverse fields including bioinformatics, computational biology, statistics, computer science, biology, genetics, applied mathematics. Networks have been applied to analyze a variety of high dimensional data including gene expression, epigenetic, methylation, RNA-seq, proteomics, and fMRI data. The course will cover both theoretical and practical network analysis issues and will stress the interpretation of results. Students should be familiar with basic statistical concepts such as linear regression, correlation coefficients, and p-values.
