And what's the last que of 8-a is asking for-  "What if the win is $500 instead of $5?"

8a is asking how much you would pay to play this game. Only one flip (or toss). Then is asking what if the head prize is $500 instead of $5. 

These are trivial probability questions with obvious answers, I think you are thinking too much on what they mean.
