It is our pleasure to invite you to two back-to-back conferences in December.

  (1) Second International Conference on

CREATIVE MATHEMATICAL SCIENCES COMMUNICATION (CMSC)

DATE:  9--12 December 2014

VENUE: Institute for Mathematical  Sciences in Chennai (IMSC) India.

WEBSITE:  http://www.imsc.res.in/~cmsc2014/index.html

The first CMSC was held August 2013 in Darwin, Australia (www.cdu.edu.au/conference/csmaths).

There is an exciting programme:

·        Expand the community of those interested and active in helping students achieve 21st Century competencies in computer science mathematics, which includes math activities across the curriculum.

·        Engage research mathematical scientists in outreach and communication. Bringing together researchers, educators and communicators committed to exploration and discovery into classrooms and among the educated public.

·        Explore new ways of thinking initiated by Computer Science Unplugged, “both-ways” First Nations and Aboriginal thinking, and other similar efforts.

The conference will feature keynote talks by researchers and communicators with original work in popularizing mathematics and computer science, and sharing of experience by activists with extensive experience in education and outreach.

Take this opportunity to spend as long as you can in Chennai, participating in IMSC and Tamil Nadu Science Forum activities.

(2) FPT / Multivariate Algorithmics NEW IDEAS Workshop on 8 December also at IMSC. Note that FST-TCS starts 15 December in Delhi.

Please email Jam (R. Ramanujam) or Frances Rosamond, co-organizers, CMSC2014, of your intention to participate. Let us know if you need a formal letter of invitation. The Registration page is under construction.
