Just a reminder that the holiday party is coming up on January 17th from 6pm to 10pm on SW Quimby between 19th and 20th.  It is always a really fun event and a great time to socialize and catch up with in a non-flying environment.   There will be good food and a no host bar.  So far there are 13 going (and 7 interested) on facebook and one person replied to the googlegroup e-mail.  I need to provide a good faith estimate as to how many attendees we will have.  This just serves as a reminder.  Please let us know on facebook or reply to this e-mail if you can go.  You are more than welcome to show up unannounced but I would like to get a ballpark headcount.  I really look forward to seeing all of you!

Looking for some help in filing in behind me to set up some things before the party, as I committed but can't make it due to prior engagements. Luke just needs someone to be early to the party (530 or 6) to set up a donation can and sign up sheet. As a new pilot I thought it would be a good opportunity shake some new hands. I'm sure there's some new folks in the same boat that could benefit from the opportunity. Hope it's a good'ol time, I'll see you all at the next. Feel free to get in touch with myself or Luke with questions (JesseHunter332(at)yahoo.com). Thanks!

I think we have it covered.  Thank you Jesse!  I hope to see many of you next Friday!

Good morning my flying friends,

Our holiday party is just days away:  This Friday the 17th!  Come for the fun and comradere, stay for the pizza and beverages.  This is a kid friendly event and we will be bringing our kids to the party so if you have kids there should be some company for them.  This party will be a little different from the past few years.  It is being held at the Lucky Lab Beer Hall in Southwest Portland:  1945, NW Quimby St, Portland, OR 97209.  We have a room reserved from 6pm-10pm and we will have the option of either extending the time frame by an hour or moving the party to the bar after 10pm.  The Lucky Lab will be supplying pizza and salad bar for the guests and the club will buy a cake.  You will have to order beverages on your own.  The club will “front” the money, however we will be requesting donations to recoup most of the costs:  We are asking that you donate $10 per adult and $5 per child to cover the food!

All club members and friends of the club are welcome and encouraged to attend.  It’s a great opportunity for many of us to get together in one place and catch up with each other’s lives, tell grand stories of flying exploits and flops and just have a fun time.  There will be a slideshow courtesy of Mike Cook and of course the food and a no host bar:   I had a sneak peak at the slide show and is really good.  We also have a gift exchange for those who choose to participate.  This will not be a white elephant gift exchange (no stealing gifts etc…) as that takes too much time away from the festivities.   Basically bring a wrapped gift and you will get to select a random gift in the pile.  I really look forward to seeing as many of you as possible.

We also need a tentative head count in advance so the Lucky Lab can plan for the amount of pizza’s to make as well as staffing.  If you are on facebook please click “going” on the invitation:  https://www.facebook.com/events/573237133226066/ .  You don’t have to RSVP but it helps to planning for head count.
