Anybody want to give it a go about 12:30?  I'm painting so won't be able to check back till after 11:30.

Isn't the LZ at Chehalem closed for the time being, due to crops?

Yes but there are other places to land if you get some lift.

Have not heard from anyone that the normal lz is closed but it is true that the grass is getting long and the site guide says it is normally closed Spring to Summer.  My plan was to land at the hang lz down the hill if possible - potentially strong conditions and my new wonderful fantastic pod (thank's Matt) might have helped make that possible today but I can see you looking at me with some askance - again.  Ok, I'll give it up and continue painting.  mumble mumble mumble

Maybe I gave up too soon.  Do you want to give it a go, Mark?

It was just a reminder. I have been flying there and landing out for years. Just remember it can be a sinky place so make sure you are reading it right. There was a bail out just a bit to the east that has since grown over with brush and blackberries

Should be landing not hiking up a launch. Probably was a nice early window for flying but OD and rain in the coast range and the sky is filling in and getting dark.

Just a reminder, the main LZ is closed due to harvest season.  So, if you fly Chehalem Ridge you will need to land else where.
