Is the wind any good today Dave? I'm a new P2. Want to come anytime to fly. I assumed the rain was gonna kill it today.

Since Tyrus and another P2, Austin, asked about Chehalem today, here my non-flight report: 

I sat on launch for an hour plus,  Looked like a good direction and base speed when I arrived at 2 - SSE about 6-7mph.  This stayed fairly consistent.  There was no rain but I could see verga coming from several upwind cells.  Big and small patches mostly moving westerly.  A mild gust front, lasting maybe a minute, hit about 20 minutes into my wait.  Not a good omen.  A second and even stronger gust front hit about an hour in so I left.
