Mark, perhaps you can talk some sense into whoever it was the vandalized my van at CLO launch yesterday.  I was the only pilot flying and there were lots of other hang and para pilots there. My car was boxed in by assembled hang gliders.  What’s next, my tires are going to get sliced or my windshield broken.  The vandalism was just two USHPA stickers peeled and some scratches.  Never the less this is an immature and stupid act of vandalism.  I suspect who it is but unless somebody steps up then I will be forced to file a report against CPC and USHPA.  I have less than 48 hours to do so. Unless somebody can assure me that this kind of shit won’t happen again then I’ll rein in my intent to file by tomorrow.  This is just the silly kind of shit that is going to get fly sites closed and I don’t want that to happen.  In the interim I don’t feel safe parking on public lands without posting a guard.  Very stressful.  What’s  ironic is that I was just telling Larry Jorgenson that I was renewing my Ragalla membership with USHPA so I could fly Dog.  I’m not so sure I want to be a member of a group who has members who feel compelled to damage private property.  I’m pissed.  I’ve tried keeping a low profile but the idiot that did this leaves me no other choice but to react.

Whoever did this needs to know that it is completely unacceptable behavior. We are better than this and such acts of vandalism create a tension and ugliness that do not belong in our club and especially not in our sport. We paraglide to fulfill our childhood dreams of flying and are blessed with a community that, for the most part, is respectful and caring of other pilots. 

This is not who we are and as a club we condemn any act of hate towards another pilot.

-Exactly what does filing a report against CPC and USHPA accomplish?  Are you blaming the action of presumably one individual (perhaps more) on the the entire membership of the club or USHPA?

Kraske, it's pretty childish for someone to pull the stickers off your car. And I'd like to think that if anyone saw someone messing with anyone's car they'd say something.

But it is a bit far to blame all of CPC and USHPA for one person's childish vandalism.
